This is not IT services consulting. These are product management, business analytics, and tech strategy roles at scaled tech firms. The cluster is smaller than Consulting or Finance, but the average of ₹28.54 LPA is competitive with the overall batch mean, and the ₹71 LPA outlier signals that top-quartile outcomes rival Finance.

The FMCG and consumer marketing reality

HUL, PepsiCo, ITC, Reckitt, Asian Paints, Marico, Mondelez, Nestlé, L'Oréal, Colgate-Palmolive, PhonePe, and Kenvue are listed recruiters under Sales & Marketing (14.4% of placements). The cluster exists, but it is materially smaller than at SIBM Pune (where S&M is 22%) or MDI Gurgaon.

IIM Kozhikode uses a two-stage selection process: (1) composite shortlisting based on CAT + academics + work-ex + diversity, then (2) WAT + PI, then (3) final composite combining all stages.

Accepted exams

CAT 2025 is mandatory for PGP, PGP Finance, and PGP-LSM. No other exam (XAT, GMAT, NMAT) is accepted for these three programmes.

For the EPGP (Executive PGP), GMAT, GRE, or CAT are accepted, with a minimum 5 years work experience requirement.

Shortlisting weights (Stage 1 composite)

Weekend networking, startup meetups, finance industry events, FMCG marketing conferences — these happen in metros, not in Kozhikode.

The IIM K brand clears most HR screens nationally, but the informal alumni network density in north India's consumer, FMCG, and traditional Indian business sectors is materially thinner than at IIM A/B/C or Delhi/Mumbai-based schools like FMS or SPJIMR.

2. Bulge-bracket IB pipeline is smaller than IIM Calcutta
