Is it possible to succeed in MBA and career after underperforming in CAT entrance exam?

A below-cutoff CAT result is not a career-ending outcome. We've seen this play out repeatedly across student journeys we track, and the picture that emerges is consistent: there are credible, well-structured alternative paths — particularly for candidates willing to invest time in building a stronger international profile.

Consider the situation of a GEM (General Engineering Male) candidate who scored below the cutoff for the top IIMs. Rather than forcing a re-attempt or settling for a program that didn't fit his goals, he pivoted deliberately. He secured admits from NMIMS Mumbai and XIMB Bhubaneswar, but chose to pursue an international route instead — scoring 8.5 on IELTS and 730 on the GMAT (old format), then applying to Australian universities through an admissions agent.
