Is geometry important for CAT and XAT preparation, and can it be skipped?

If you are targeting only lower-tier XAT schools or aiming for an 85-90 percentile CAT score, geometry is lower priority than number systems, arithmetic, or algebra, which carry far more consistent weight. But if XLRI, IIFT, or a 99 percentile CAT is the goal, skipping geometry is simply not a calculated risk.
It's an unforced error. The investment is small, the downside of skipping is large, and the topic is learnable without exceptional math ability.
