What questions are asked in Great Lakes PGPM AI proctored interview round and how does it work?

Based on candidate experiences we've tracked, Great Lakes' AI proctored interview for PGPM consists of approximately three standard HR questions. A candidate who completed the round noted the questions were "pretty basic" and included: (1) Why MBA? — if you satisfy the AI chatbot adequately here, it reportedly won't probe deeper; (2) Challenges faced in your work setup; and (3) A leader who inspired you and why. From another candidate who underwent the interview, we've seen confirmation of similar questioning patterns — challenges in professional life specifically for PGPM applicants, along with standard "Tell me about yourself" questions.

Multiple candidates have emphasised these were "general generic questions" with "nothing out of the box," and in our experience, that framing holds up. The AI round appears focused on assessing motivation and soft skills rather than technical depth. The process is fully automated, with an AI chatbot conducting the interview end-to-end.

Following the AI proctored round, shortlists for personal interviews (PI) are declared within 4–5 days. We've seen PI schedules placed as early as February 2nd, with at least one confirmed slot in Okhla, Delhi.

The picture that emerges from multiple candidate accounts is clear: preparation should focus on articulate answers to standard MBA motivation questions, concrete examples of professional or personal challenges demonstrating problem-solving ability, and clarity on career aspirations. Since the round is AI-proctored rather than human-evaluated, clear articulation and direct responses appear valued over nuanced discussion. No candidate we've heard from reported being asked technical or MBA-specific questions — which strongly suggests the AI round functions primarily as a screening mechanism for communication skills and basic motivation assessment, not academic rigour.
