XLRI Jamshedpur Campus — Jamshedpur Main, Delhi-NCR, and the Jesuit Heritage

XLRI sits in Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur, Jharkhand — integrated within India's first planned industrial city, founded by Jamsetji Tata. The institution itself was established in 1949 by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) with Fr. Quinn Enright S.J. as a founding force, making XLRI India's oldest B-school — three years older than the IIM system itself, which started in 1961 with IIM Calcutta.

XLRI Delhi-NCR Campus — Operational Since 2020

The XLRI Delhi-NCR campus in Jhajjar, Haryana opened in 2020 and now hosts 178 of the 397 PGDM-BM students (the HRM programme remains Jamshedpur-only). The Delhi-NCR campus follows the same curriculum, faculty, and placement process as Jamshedpur — the placement reports treat both campuses as a single unified XLRI batch.

The Delhi-NCR campus is newer infrastructure with modern academic buildings and proximity to Delhi NCR's corporate ecosystem (Gurgaon, Noida) — a meaningful advantage for students targeting consulting, BFSI, and tech roles where firm offices and networking events are concentrated in NCR. Students typically apply to XLRI without specifying campus preference; campus allocation happens after admission based on institute decisions and student preferences. The Delhi-NCR campus is structurally better positioned for finance and consulting aspirants; the Jamshedpur campus retains the heritage, the HR focus, and the manufacturing/industrial relationships.

XLRI Triple Accreditation and Global Recognition

XLRI holds triple accreditation: AACSB (US), AMBA (UK), and NBA Tier 1. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognises XLRI's PGDM as equivalent to an MBA.

XLRI Hostels, Mess, and Residential Life

The MBA programmes are fully residential — non-negotiable. Students live in single or double-occupancy rooms across multiple residential blocks at the Jamshedpur campus (and Delhi-NCR campus for BM students allocated there). Unlike some IIMs that bundle hostel into tuition, XLRI charges hostel and mess separately — typically ₹1.5-2.0 lakh per year for accommodation + meals + utilities, on top of the ₹15.25 L tuition.
