FORE MBA Final Year Student AMA: Placements, Package, Specializations, and College Experience

On placements and packages: The college reports approximately 70% placement rates. Actual in-hand packages, however, range from 10–12 LPA despite advertised averages of 16.4 LPA CTC — a gap that's worth factoring into your expectations. The student we're drawing from secured a Key Account Manager role through the process.

On specializations: Marketing and International Business are FORE's strongest domains relative to peer institutions like IMI Delhi. If these are your target areas, FORE holds a genuine edge. Finance is a different story — the institution is, in the words of someone who has been through the process, "very marketing oriented." Pure finance openings are limited, with only the top 10% of finance-specializing students landing dedicated finance roles. The majority of finance candidates end up pivoting to financial sales. Operations placements are even more constrained — only 2–3 companies visited specifically for operations roles.

On academics and shortlisting: Grades play "a decent role" in shortlisting but are not the deciding factor. Interview performance and your ability to clearly articulate your profile matter more. We've seen this reflected in student experiences where candidates with profiles like 7/7/6 academic scores still secured placements — lower GPAs don't automatically disqualify you, but your narrative needs to be sharp.

On FORE vs. IMI Delhi: FORE leads in marketing and IB; IMI holds stronger ground in other domains. The right choice depends on your target function and industry.

On the International Immersion Program: FORE includes a 7-day International Immersion Program — covering ESSEC Paris and UN Geneva — within the standard fee structure. An optional 14-day extension is available at an additional cost of approximately ₹80,000. For Northeastern students specifically, FORE also offers better scholarship options than many comparable institutions.

On academics and schedule: The first year is intense — expect 6–7 hours of classes daily, including weekends. The second year is considerably more relaxed, typically 9–12 hours of classes per week. Most students from Delhi and Gurgaon commute as day scholars. For those who need accommodation, PGs are available in the Katwaria Sarai, Adchini, and Munirka areas near campus.

On summer internships: These are notably tougher than final placements. Only 58–67% of students secure college-facilitated internships, so it's worth building parallel pipelines early. HR and consulting functions see moderate openings — firms like GEP, Deloitte, EY, and Cognizant have been part of the mix — with in-hand compensation averaging around ₹12 LPA in these tracks.

On program choices: From what we've tracked in student conversations, the FORE Core program is recommended over the FM (dual-country) program for better overall outcomes. Dual-country programs at this tier tend to underdeliver on the promise relative to their cost and complexity.

The picture that emerges is of a college with a clear, well-defined strength in marketing and IB, honest placement limitations in finance and operations, and a student experience that front-loads intensity before easing in the second year. Go in with calibrated expectations and a clear specialization intent, and FORE can deliver meaningfully.
